This week we read the book “Penguins, Penguins Everywhere” and learned all about Penguins, where they live, what they eat, and what eats THEM.  We also colored our own penguins and sprayed the page with water.  Water doesn’t stick to the waxy crayon drawing just like it doesn’t stick to a penguin’s waxy feathers.

We also read the book “The Mitten” about animals hiding in a mitten in the snow.  We glued animals into a mitten and painted fluffy snow made with glue and shaving cream all around our mittens.

We had a great week back!  Even though it was sunny and very warm out, inside we were all about cold and snow.  We painted with “snow”, read books about snowmen, and played in fake snow that we made from cornstarch and shaving cream.

Merry christmas from Mrs Heebner and Mrs Baily’s Class!  We had a great party today!

November

This week we read books about the Pilgrims and Indians, worked on our costumes and songs and on Friday we made home made butter and ate it on biscuits.  We talked about how the Pilgrims made all their food and grew their crops.
